Through global reach and localized impact, the IU LAB Bio Start-up Center provides the platform for early-stage companies and ideas to launch and high-potential startup to accelerate their growth. Through the IU Health Incubator at IU LAB, up to 40 biotech and life science companies, per year, have the opportunity to develop and refine their business models with input from Indiana’s leading life science industry, pursue new partnerships and investor opportunities, and integrate to one of the world’s fastest growing life science ecosystem. Supported by a strategic partnership with IU Health, an unprecedented, collaborative model is offered by gener8tor, Plug And Play, and Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) to provide a full suite of offerings for startups at any stage of the business lifecycle.

Pre-Accelerator powered by gener8tor

Powered by gener8tor’s gBETA program, the pre-accelerator is a seven-week program focused on early stage companies and products, providing tailored tools to initiate the a founder or researcher’s business venture. In this program, founders are provided opportunities to refine their business model and value proposition; connect with mentors, customers and investors, and acquire the skills necessary to raise the capital needed to achieve business milestones. The pre-accelerator will support up to 10 companies per year, with five companies per cohort.

LifeTech Accelerator powered by Plug and Play & Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP)

The LifeTech Accelerator will leverage the international reach of Plug and Play, and the localized depth and expertise of CICP via the BioCrossroads and TechPoint verticals. Together they will recruit and accelerate the growth of high-potential startups, strengthen Indiana's biotech ecosystem, and drive collaboration and innovation to create a thriving epicenter of entrepreneurial activity at IU LAB and 16 Tech. The LifeTech Accelerator will run two batches per year, with between 10 and 15 companies per batch. Each batch will participate in a 14-week program tailored to the biotech industry with focused services to support start-ups looking to scale their ventures, connect with investors and corporate partners, and integrate into the robust Indianapolis life science ecosystem.
